Why is the Agile Platform suited for Startups?

The development speed provided by the Agile Platform allows you to create a working and feature rich web 2.0 application in a matter of weeks. The ability to easily change your apps to incorporate user feedback and new functionality makes the Agile Platform the best choice to ensure your product evolves at a low cost. Most startups are funded with little or no cash. The Agile Platform Community Edition can be used freely to build web apps with around 400 daily visitors. We give it away for free because we expect you to like it and decide to continue using it, upgrading to a higher edition that can support your venture.

I have a BIG project! Will these offerings fit my needs?

If your project is big, we will work with you to estimate the effort needed to launch your product. At the end of this process (which takes only a couple of days) we will provide you with a detailed plan that completely defines the number of weeks and resources that will be required to effectively launch your product.

What about ramping up my internal systems as I grow?

The Agile Platform is ideal for the fast delivery of your internal support systems. We have customers that delivered complete back office systems to support sales, HR and AR in weeks vs. the high cost associated with the licensing, customization and maintenance of packaged applications.

Why should I use the cloud?

If you're company is starting out, chances are you don't have a datacenter to deploy your apps and make them available to the outside world. The cloud can be an affordable alternative: it is relatively easy to set-up and deploy your applications, even if you don't have IT resources.

If you do have a data-center, the platform installation and application deployment is just as easy!

Is the cloud hosting cost included?

No it isn't. If you decide to set-up a cloud infrastructure the cost is not supported by the OutSystems offering. You will have to subscribe to the cloud provider services and set-up billing directly with your company. Outsystems is not a reseller of cloud or hosting services.

Will you maintain my hosted environment?

The service offerings we provide do not include support for the infrastructure you will use. However, we will provide support for the Agile Platform, according to the edition you are using (as describes in the Pricing & Editions section).

Will I be able to switch to another hosting service?

Yes, the Agile Platform can be quickly installed using the cloud/hosting services of most providers. If you decide to change your hosting supplier or start using your own data-center servers, you will only need to install the platform and re-deploy your applications. If you have data stored in a database, you will need to account for the migration of that data to the new environment.
