To access the properties of an extension, simply double-click on the extension in the Extension tab, in the Multi-tree Navigator.

The extension properties are explained below.

Name

Name of the extension. See rules for naming elements.

Application Server

Indicates in what application server environment the extension is ready to be published. The possible values are: .NET, J2EE, and (Both).

This property is quite relevant for the development of your extensions and you must be aware of the Integration Studio behavior concerning the possible values:

To edit the extension source code, you have the icon on the Toolbar or File menu, which launches the .NET Development Tool you specified in the Options window.

To edit the extension source code, you have the icon on the Toolbar or File menu, which launches the Java Development Tool you specified in the Options window.

To edit the extension source code, you edit the source code in the .NET and Java Development Tools, by using the and icons. In this situation you are responsible for ensuring the synchronization of the written code, since Integration Studio only guarantees the synchronization of the extension definition.

Integration Studio assists you in handling this property when switching from .NET or (Both) to J2EE or from J2EE or (Both) to .NET. In these situations, a warning might pop-up notifying you that some resources will be excluded from the extension and, therefore, won't be packed in the xif. This warning is not displayed if you change from .NET or J2EE to (Both), because in this situation no resources are excluded.

Default value: Depends on the value you specified in the Options window.

DBMS

Indicates the Database Management System (DBMS) type that the extension is prepared to work with. This property is used during the validation of the extension to, for example, check whether the physical table name associated with an entity is valid or not.

The possible values are: MySQL, Oracle, SqlServer and (All).

Default value: (All).

Description

Free text that describes the extension. Useful for documentation and knowledge transfer purposes. The maximum size of this property is 255 characters.
