This topic describes how to allow your users to send feedback while they are using applications. For example, enable your QA teams or key users to send suggestions or report problems. This way you can streamline all the feedback gathering process and defect tracking.

In this example, you have a new version of the Bookings application, and you want to get feedback from some QA users.

Turn Feedback On for the Application

With the Bookings application deployed in the QA environment, enable user feedback for the Bookings application.

Follow these steps:

  1. Open LifeTime;
  2. Go to the Applications option;
  3. Select ‘End-user Feedback (ECT)’ in the drop-down menu that is next to the QA environment name. This will open the application to configure the user feedback;
  4. Go to the Configuration option and turn the feedback switch on for the Bookings application.

Restrict the Users Who Can Submit Feedback

When you turn the feedback on, all users are allowed to submit feedback by default.

In our example, we want it to be possible only for some QA team members.

Follow these steps:

  1. Open the drop down list next to the feedback switch and select ‘Create a New Group...’;
  2. The browser opens a new tab in the browser with the Users application.
  3. Create the group with the QA users you want to get feedback from.
  4. Call the group ‘Bookings QA Users’.
  5. Back to the feedback configuration, refresh the page, and select the newly created group of feedback users.

That’s it!

From now on, only the selected QA users are able to submit feedback. And they can do it whether they are testing Bookings on a desktop, tablet, or mobile device.
