Service Studio 5.1 Help
Modified Version Detected Window
Whenever you connect to your Platform Server, Service Studio compares the local file for the eSpace stored in your desktop with the server file for the eSpace stored in that server.
When comparing the local and server files one of the following situations occurs:
The local file is newer than the Server file:
The current operation continues its execution.
The local file is older than the Server file:
In this situation, Service Studio prompts you with the "Modified version detected" window and you have to select which option best suits your needs:
Continue editing the local file;
Download the server file.
Conflict between local file and server version: There is a conflict when two developers edited the same eSpace version (Version of the eSpace in the repository of Platform Server. Each time, the eSpace is uploaded, this version is incremented.) and they both changed it. The first developer will have no problems when uploading his/her work. However, when the second developer tries to upload his/her work, a conflict is detected. The conflict occurs when you've downloaded an eSpace version from your Platform Server but, in the meantime, another eSpace version was uploaded.
In this situation, Service Studio prompts you with the "Modified version detected" window and you have to select which option best suits your needs:
Continue editing the Local file;
Download the Server version;
Load the Local file and launch the Differences to merge window where you can check the differences and merge the elements of the Remote File. The Local file will, then, contain all the elements you specified to merge.
Modified Version Detected window
The Modified Version Detected window is displayed when the local file for an eSpace is older than the remote version for that eSpace, or when there is a conflict between these two files.
In Modified Version Detected window Show picture you have the following information:

Server version: <eSpace name>@<Platform Server name>
The user that last uploaded that server version and the date and the time of that operation.
Local file: Local path and file name.
The options available in this window depend on the results of comparing the local and server versions and could be one of the following:
Continue with the current operation for the
local file. For example, when opening an eSpace that has a conflict, the
following option is presented:
Continue opening the local file.
Download and open server
version. In this situation, the Download
window is launched and you can simply identify the server version you
want.
Check differences and merge
local file with server version. In this situation, the Differences
to merge window is launched and you can merge the differences you
want into the local file.
