The Upload an eSpace option uploads the eSpace to the Platform Server you are connected to. Every time an eSpace is uploaded the eSpace version (Version of the eSpace in the repository of Platform Server. Each time, the eSpace is uploaded, this version is incremented.) is incremented, allowing you to have version control.

Uploading an eSpace

The Upload operation is available in the File menu or on the Toolbar. This operation is also part of the 1-Click Publish operation for an eSpace.

If you are not connected to an Platform Server, Service Studio automatically prompts you to select a server and a user name, in order to establish the connection.

In this situation, you must be aware that there is a connection time-out for this operation and that, if necessary, you can configure it. How?

When uploading an eSpace, Service Studio automatically checks whether there are conflicts between the file you specified in step 1 and the file that is currently running in the server you are connected to. See how the conflict is detected between the local file (the one you are trying to upload) and the remote file (the one that exists in the Platform Server).

The upload operation also saves the eSpace that is currently open.

Upload access rights

To upload an eSpace into Platform Server you must have at least a Publish security level on that eSpace or an Allow New eSpace security setting, if the eSpace is new.

To check your permissions, you must login to the Service Center. In the My Settings tab, you can check your effective permissions: Security Settings and eSpaces, Extensions and Solutions Granted. If necessary, contact the Service Center administrator and ask to be granted the suitable permissions.

You can also upload the eSpace in Service Center (Factory g eSpaces g link Upload & Publish an eSpace).
