Allows Web Block instances to communicate with their parent screen or web block, notifying that something meaningful happened. When a web block calls the Notify action, its parents need to specify which action runs to handle the notification.

We want to reuse a form on multiple screens, so we encapsulate that form in a Web Block.

But whenever the end-user saves the form, we need to let the page know the user changed something, so that it can update itself.

  1. The end-user clicks the Save button;
  2. The Save action from the web block runs. It calls the Notify action;
  3. The page where the screen block is instantiated receives the notification;
  4. The Update Screen action runs to handle the notification;
  5. The Update Screen action ends, and the Save action continues to run on the web block.

Notifications on the Client-Side with JavaScript

You can also trigger notifications from the client-side. For that use the OsNotify JavaScript function.
