FAQ - How will this social consulting experiment work?
Why are we doing this?
We thought up this experiment because we wanted to do something a little different than your usual vendor-analyst webinar - so we decided it would be interesting to see how social media could be used for an analyst Q&A.
What’s a social consulting experiment?
We’re calling it a “social consulting experiment” – because in essence, OutSystems is sponsoring time with Forrester’s John Rymer to provide a free consulting session to IT people on a given topic. It’s an experiment because we haven’t tried it before – and don’t know of anyone else who has…so, let’s see how it goes!
Why is there a pre-chosen topic?
Since our budget is limited we only have so much time with John – so we picked a subject matter to help guide the conversation.
What’s the topic?
The topic is “The Future of Enterprise Applications” – and is based on a research note Forrester put out in 2007, which made predictions through 2010. Since we're well into 2010, we thought it would be interesting to get your questions and John’s take on what the future post-2010 may bring. We expect sub-topics on issues like the role of cloud computing, social media, methods and approaches, the build vs. buy argument, tools & platforms, mobility, collaboration…and the list goes on. What’s your question for John?
How do I ask my question?
Please post your question in the comment box on the experiment homepage – this mechanism will help us manage all the questions and give you more than 140 characters to ask a question. Your question will then show up in the full list of questions and you can retweet it right there, so everyone following the #AskRymer hashtag will see it on Twitter.
Is there a limit to the questions I can ask?
Nope! You can ask all the questions you like. John will select 10 questions, so unfortunately many of the questions will go unanswered in this first experiment.
Do I need to leave my name to ask a question?
No you don't. All questions are anonymous, and you are not required to leave your contact information.
How will John answer the questions?
After a week or so, John will select up to 10 questions to answer, and we will meet with him at the Forrester IT Forum to video his answers. We will then publish those videos on the experiment webpage and alert everyone via twitter etc.
How will I know when the answers are available?
After you submit your question you'll be asked if you want to leave your email so we can notify you. If you decide to subscribe to the notifications, you'll be the first to know when we post the videos on the website. We will also announce the availability of the answers via Twitter, Facebook and other social media tools.
Watch the videos with John's answers.
