I agree with the bug issue ... I'm wondering if it is how the OnUpdate action is getting set. I have included our example with the "bandaid" in place.

Processes and CheckPermission Outsystems 6.0

I am trying to use the CheckPermission of BPT_API but it returns always True (activity lock to another user), in EPA works great only show the ones lock to that user but when i use this to check if another user has permission to the activity lock to another it returns True.

Anyone got this problem?

In Outsystems 5.1 i use the one from Enterprise and works fine.

What else is in V7?

Hi João,

In order to prevent session hijacking, the session related cookies are marked as Http-Only and therefore are used in the HTTP headers but are not visible to Javascript. This is a standard practice in all http session management middlewares.

There are other ways in which you can handle this scenario:

if you're already logged in "localhost", session should be maintained across requests; you should only hit this problem when trying to do cross-domain accesses
if for any reason your session cookie isn't being sent by XMLHttpRequest, you may generate a temporary login token and pass it on as a parameter to an intermediate page that could call the Login action based on that parameter, and afterwards redirect to NewSound.aspx with the same soundId parameter

I just installed the 7.0 version of Outsystem (trial edition) and also the SalesForce connector in the downloads. When I try to publish the SF connector I am getting the following error. Is there a newer version of the connector I should be using?

I had to do some similar stuff some time ago for a personal project (not so many records, but similar) and also ended up doing my own SqlBulkCopy-like extension, but didn't share it because it did alot more inside the extension method than just the inserts.

Thanks for sharing your version of it (you so much nicer than me xD).

Just on a side note that I had problems with: .net SqlBulkCopy methods are Case Sensitve to the tables names and attribute names case. It gives strange errors.

Input_Calender widget crashes

Hi Daan,

There is one obvious problem with your options. The first one "InputWidgetId" needs to be set to the Runtime Id of a Input Widget, even when using the FlatStyle.
Make sure there is an Input on your screen (don't forget to give it a name). and then set the property to something like TheNameYouGaveTheWidget.Id
Note you can try to hide the input if you really don't want it visible using extended property with type="hidden".

Also, testing with your settings does not work at all in IE, because it refuses to create dates for the year 1.
Really don't think thats what you want to do, since MaxYear 1 makes no sense at all... If you leave those 2 empty, it generates all the possible years.

Pedro - After coming back from a short break, I finally got the clues, and managed to get it working, many thanks to your 'taking me by the hand'. When I trace back the whole components you directed me, I learnt faster about widgets, the logic behind and all. In the future, I definitely can build master-detail edit screens from the PRACTICAL direction you provided. The only thing i discovered is, probably because of much testing back and forth (the previous clicks on the Save button), i found many rows of 'empty' records added to the Request Details list table...so I had to add a DELETE button to remove the records. Hopefully that cleans it up. Otherwise, thanks once again.

Hi Robert,

If you create a new application from scratch and go to the "Common" screen flow you'll find the "Layout_Normal" webblock, this is the one used as the base for new webscreens you create.
In this one you have all the default placeholders, and you can create your own new ones, and each of these placeholders has its own CSS class.
You can freely drag them and re-arrange them as you please.

Is this what you wanted to know?

Hello,

Have you tried send a recordlist as inputparameter to the webblock? I think it should work.
I think that the recordlist have pointer to it, so if you send it to a webblock you are sending that pointer... So if you change the list inside a webblock it changes the same memory area.

Worth a try... I Hope it helps... If you decide to try it give us some feedback.

I think thats not the best way to count caracters, but you can try.

I must say I agree with this. In OS there is no place to design you business logic and even then if you do it in Service Studio, does the customer looks in it? I don't think so. The OutDoc exist but that's to much and you don't have any overview anymore.

I think business logic must always be described in service studio (why are some decision made will understand the logic more to the developer) but for the manager/customer it should be set in another tool, your favourite analys/design tool, like Joost wrote.

From the options you have set, the .NET Integrated Development Environment is set incorrectly to MSBuild (the build tool), where it should be devenv.exe (the Visual Studio IDE).

In my machine, I have Visual Studio 2010 and its path is:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0\Common7\IDE\devenv.exe

Please set this as your .NET Integrated Development Environment setting in Integration Studio.

As Ricardo said, the OutSystems corporate website and community website have been both built with the Agile Platform.

In response to your question, I would say that it really depends on what kind of website you need to implement.
If you need to develop a dynamic or transactional website, I'd say that the platform is a great choice (especially if your website needs to integrate with other internal systems). If it is a relatively static set of pages then the platform might be a too powerful for what you need.

BTW, I'm the guy in charge of the OutSystems websites, so if you have any specific details you'd like to discuss feel free to PM me.

Display problem: identifier showing instead of actual data

Usually, when I have an ID field on a webscreen, it will show the name versus the actual id number. I have a date/time field on one table, OfficeHours, that I have added as an officehours identifier on another table, appointments. On the appointment list webscreen, the actual identifier appears instead of the date/time. I need to make sure the date/time appears versus the identifier. What do I need to do? Thanks!

Your problem is that you cannot do a ListInsert to a list using the same list.Current
And you are doing that in the ListInsert on VerificacaodeTotais method.

Use a local variable to assign the new values to insert.

Thanks for the answer. I really have doubt that this platform is reliable enough for me. Just send an e-mail to support ask for more infos about the pricing. But if I see the cost for the Enterprise with Euro 15,000.00 that's just impossible for us to spend and that every year.

Editing an excel

Hi Nelson,

Whenever I try to publish the version of the officetemplate to see what it does I get an error.
This error is that the espace is not compatible with the server integration and that I need to update it.
But when I do the update references action the whole espace generates multiple failures.

The other excel application is from service studio 4.1.1.18 or something like that wich is no more supported by 6.1.
This means I cannot open the espace to check it out.

Is there some sort of new application wich shows me what I want?
The idea of the template looks fine and is for what I saw of it, the thing I want.

CKEditor - An exception occurred in the client script. Error: undefined

I have several CKEditor's on a screen which are displayed and hidden by checking or unchecking a checkbox. When the CKEditor is initially hidden and displayed by checking the checkbox, it fine. However, if you uncheck (hide) and recheck the checkbox (redisplay), I will get error -- "An exception occurred in the client script.
Error: undefined", and the CKEditor no longer appears. This is a serious issue and I need to get this fixed. Does anyone know how to work around this problem?

And you're right, I need to use Windows Server 2003 Standard or Enterprise for to be able to use Application Server Role in Server 2003.

Ok, start again and reinstall server 2003, Have look at my "Reservior" what versin I've available with unused or not used License. That said, I'll need to to do all updates etc. again! A gr....!

Not able to debug e-space

Hi,

Since you're using the debugger in your personal test area (PTA), be sure to point your browser to the right URL - something like:
- server/eSpace/YourServiceCenterUsername/page.aspx (PTA)
instead of:
- server/eSpace/page.aspx (public area)

By the way, are you able to start and use the debugger in the public area?

Niek: thanks for sharing this extension. I have had a long struggle in the past trying to disable cache at browser level, but it seems that I had failed to force one of the headers.

For the record, what the extension shared by Niek does is:

HttpContext.Current.Response.Cache.SetCacheability(HttpCacheability.NoCache);

HttpContext.Current.Response.Expires = -1;

HttpContext.Current.Response.ExpiresAbsolute = DateTime.Now;

HttpContext.Current.Response.CacheControl = "no-cache";

HttpContext.Current.Response.Cache.SetNoStore();

HttpContext.Current.Response.Cache.SetValidUntilExpires(false);

This solution still poses one problem, though. It does not disable back (nor tries to cope with it) - it transparently makes back behave as a new request to the previous page. To protect the use-case in which we want to avoid a user hitting back and seeing details of the end-user session, it works perfectly.

But if a user hits back and goes back to a page that actually does stuff when loading with GET, those things will be done again. So pages built to avoid loading cached content with back must be very well protected not to do anything in the preparations / late-loads and similar patterns. This could pose other problems (e.g. in the banking account, this could trigger duplicate operations inadvertedly).

Finally, thank you (Niek and Joop) for insisting with this :-) - I am very happy that at least it is possible to force browsers (I tested with IE, Firefox, Chrome, Safari) to not reload content from cache with back.

Let me try to clarify my statements.

If you have the Agile Platform Community installed on your laptop, and the Oracle database is a remote server, you need to do the following:

Install Oracle 11g Database Client Runtime (Client tools 11.2.0.1.0 and patch 11.2.0.1.2 - refer to Oracle Bug 9648040). Ensure you install a version compatible with your laptop operating system.You can download it from: http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/database/index.html.
Configure the Oracle services file <oracle_home>\network\admin\tnsnames.ora to connect to the Oracle remote server. You may need to ask the correct settings from the DBAs that manage that Oracle Server, to configure the file.
Configure your ORACLE_HOME and PATH environment variables, by right clicking in My Computer and selecting Properties. Go to Advanced, click on Environment Variables and in the System Variables box click the New button. Add ORACLE_HOME with the value of the Oracle Client installation directory (eg.: C:\app\Administrator\product\11.2.0\client_1). Check the beginning of the PATH variable to see if it contains the path to the Oracle Client Binaries directory (eg: C:\app\Administrator\product\11.2.0\client_1\BIN). If not, place it at the beginning, and separate from the next entry with a semi-colon.
Reset permissions for Authenticated Users in the Oracle client installation path by using Windows Explorer, locate the folder where you installed Oracle Client Tools (default is c:\app). Right-click the folder and select Properties. In the Security tab click on Authenticated Users item in the Name list, then:
- Uncheck the Read and Execute box in the Permissions list under the Allow column
- Re-check the same box again.
- Still in the Security tab, click the Advanced button.
- Check the box entitled Replace permission entries on all child objects with entries shown here that apply to child objects;
- In the Permission Entries list make sure that you see the Authenticated Users entry listed there with: Permission = Read & Execute and Apply To = This folder, subfolders and files.
- If the above two items are not as indicated, edit that line and make sure the Apply to drop-down box is set to This folder, subfolders and files.
- Click the Ok button until you close out all of the security properties windows and then reboot your computer to ensure that these changes have taken effect.
Then reboot the computer

This information is also available on the Platform Server 6.0 Install Checklist, if you select any server role with Front-End, and the Oracle database, regardless of the operating system.
