The Mobile Development Lead is responsible for the analysis, design, development, and deployment of mobile applications which leverage a wide variety of components and frameworks. This individual will lead both onsite and offshore team members and will be responsible for leading software projects and mentoring junior team members, as well as work with the business to refine mobile requirements.

Responsibilities and Duties


  • Works closely with the business to define mobile app functional & technical requirements as per best practices.
  • Leads a team of mobile application developers and testers from large scale projects down to day-to-day support.
  • Leads complex mobile development projects with strong emphasis on OOAD and DB design with an understanding of the various software development methodologies.
  • Leads design and review of project solutions, technical and functional documents and artifacts as deemed required for IT Governance and SDLC.
  • Provides technical & functional leadership to software development team.
  • Must to be able to perform software analysis, code analysis, requirement analysis, software review and identification of code metrics, system risk analysis and software reliability analysis.
  • Support, maintain and document software functionality in addition to work on performance tuning, improvement and usability of software modules.
  • Keeps up-to-date on current and upcoming features / technologies in mobile products and platforms.
  • Performs reviews and walk-throughs of technical deliverables. Writes High & Low Level Design documents (HLD & LLD) for existing and new product features.
  • Interfaces with clients, business partners and internal staff, including senior management on a wide variety of mobile & technical issues. Uses technical expertise to develop and deliver formal and/or spontaneous presentations to prospects and technical groups.
  • Works with onsite and offshore team to produce required software in budget, schedule and as per business scope.
  • Such other reasonable duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications and Skills


  • Bachelors’ degree in computer science or relevant experience.
  • 5+ year experience in leading, coding, & executing mobile development projects in a hybrid or native environment for iOS and Android.
  • 3+ year experience in Web Services implementation in various technologies.
  • 3+ years of experience in leading Agile / SCRUM teams
  • Strong experience in various frameworks / languages such as PhoneGap, C#, JAVA, etc.
  • Strong experience in web based technologies such as: JavaScript (JQuery, NodeJS), AJAX, HTML5
  • Knowledge about cloud message APIs and push notifications
  • Experience working with business leads to implement mobile best practices.
  • Experience with SQLs and relational databases such as Oracle, Postgres, Informix, etc.
  • Experience with low code development platforms such as OutSystems, Boomi, etc. is a plus.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Project Management experience or PMP preferred.
