Architecture & Governance

Q - What do you need?
A - Access to AI Mentor for OutSystem free edition. Because it is replacing the Architecture Dashboard that had no access limitations for free editions. Besides that, I'm studying for Architecture certification, and I don't know if it will have any questions about AI Mentor.

Q - What could it improve?
A - Become this tool available for free versions will increase the number of users who will perform tests, find bugs, propose improvements, etc.

Q - Who would benefit from that?
A - In general, increasing the number of users will contribute to further improving the tool, and everybody will benefit with this.

absolutely agree,

even for a limited period of time for learning purposes (as it was for ODC) would be great

Correct, It should be provided.

I never say Architecture Dashboard to be free available for personal environments, but I liked this idea. As one needs to practise to learn for a an exam

I agree with you Jose, because we can practice this like ODC access for sometime to again the ODC ready batch. Limited time access can be good for learning.

Totally Agree with you Jose.

Even as Dorine mentioned, even for a limited amount of time can be helpful

Hi José,

At this point, we don't have plans to have AI Mentor Studio available to OutSystems free edition.

Although we do understand the learning/training use case, the benefits and data available for you to learn will be residual as in an environment with only your own code, the number of findings in particular architecture wise would be minimum.

Thanks.

Fernando,

I respect your point of view, but allow me to disagree with you.

Even in a personal environment with only residual data as you mentioned, a beginner can make architectural mistakes during learning, and AI Mentor would be a great ally to identify such mistakes.

Whether such errors would be minimal or not this will depend on the level of knowledge of the student. They can be large or small.

Fernando,

i'm not sure we are talking about the same learning use case.

It is about learning how to use the tool itself, not using the tool as support for learning Outsystems.

And as such, I can make all kinds of deliberate 'mistakes' in my environment, to learn / test how that would be reflected in AI Mentor Studio, and how AI Mentor Studio can help me find and solve them.

So it is not about size of factory at all, it is about understanding types of findings we can expect from the tool.

And trying to create these bad patterns on purpose in a personal environment to trigger findings, is in itself a very powerfull exercise in recognising and deeply understanding them, just like a good policeman should learn lock forcing skills to better understand thieves.

I do understand your points of view. Although to know which patterns are available on AI Mentor Studio you can check in detail on the public documentation

Unfortunately, at this point we don't have plans to make it available for free editions.

It makes sense at least to try it

I totally agree with this idea!

I totally agree with this idea and hope it will be activated soon.

That could be a nice initiative.

This would also improve quality of Forge components. Some users develop their components in a separate Personal Environment, and will not otherwise be able to validate that their app is following best practices.

(AI Mentor quality should be pre-screened before any module can be published to the community via Forge)
