Visually design printable reports (PDFs)

It could be useful the existence of a kind of widget , similar to the page count richwidget, focus to the creation of reports (with auto pagination, Header repetition, SusTotal, total, ...) to be printed .

Most people I'm aware of are using some sort of reporting tool, like Crystal Reports, which gives you all of this and much more.  Since those types of products do a very good job of reporting, it would be better to have a How-To or Best Practices document for reporting instead of reinventing the wheel by creating reporting components within Outsystems.  In addition, using an external tool allows end users to create reports without having to have knowledge of the Outsystems environment, a requirement for my project.

Also you can use the reporting services.

althought i understand he's idea since i also had already several requests to do That. External reporting tools doesnt give the exact content of the page That we see. I also understand That it shouldnt be easy to implement.

It would be great for reporting and printing documents to be able to generate PDFs on the fly, based on the contents of a screen.

Does the Html2Pdf eSpace can handle such case?

Merged these two ideas. If you don't mind I'll rename it to "Visually design printable reports (PDFs)" as "Print Flow" seemed to indicate the "ability to print a flow..." :)

The html2pdf doesnt solve All the problems like for example with external css filés, images doesnt showing and probably many others.

ofc That there are several workarrounds althought it should be WYSIWUG (what you see is what you get)

A new Report Design layer in Service Studio (like Interface layer), would be very nice and helpful, we could use (and reuse) all components like aggregate and logic actions to compose a report, everything inside the same ALM (application lifecycle) control, using the same database entity, struct, connection, etc.

Hi everyone!

Something that I think that can be a positive add to the platform is a method to export form to pdf just like the metod that exist to export tables to excel.

I think that, with this improvement, the developers will be faster to develope pdf export implementations.

I like this idea!

Section and Section Index could be used to create a table of contents. 

Table headers should (optionally?) repeat on each page. Table rows should avoid breaking across pages. All pages of TableRecords and ListRecords that match the current filters should print. 

Content that scrolls should print in its entirety, not just what is visible on screen. Buttons should not print, but links should. Text formatting should be preserved. Widget should have Header and Footer sections that are used just for printing. Should be able to set margins. Pdf should be able to download and also store it within Outsystems.

Everything should be done securely, in line with Outsystems's existing standards.

Following these posts, it would be great if Outsystems could bring out a supported version of the HTML to PDF converter.
