UI/UX Developer

  • Austin - United States
  • Full-time

Who We Are

MicroMain Corporation is a leading provider of facilities and maintenance management software. With a proven 26 year track record in this industry vertical, we are constantly thriving to expand and improve.

What is the position?

This position is for a User Interface/User Experience developer. I know, some of you hate lumping them together, just hear us out! The UI/UX developer will work closely with the product owner, dev team, and QA engineers to produce intuitive, user friendly screens and designs that make our users think, “Wow, this is super intuitive!”. The primary function of the UI/UX developer, will be assisting the Product Owner and any product analysts with designing screens and pages based on the design patterns that are available through the low-code platform environment, as well as relevant user and product research.

You will mainly be working in two environments –

  • The design/mockup environment while working closely with the product owner to design user friendly screens and content (using various mockup tools)
  • A revolutionary low-code (RAD) platform which you will become familiar with the UI components available, and possibly producing some prototyping or mockups from there as well.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who has a good eye for design, and a mind that knows how web and mobile users typically use applications. We’re looking for someone who will help bridge the gap between our product management team and our users to make a truly world-class application, with a sharp design and usability that shines through. If you’re someone who likes to make an impact on a team, this position is for you!

Requirements:

  • Solid background in design
  • Coursework or certification in UI/UX Design
  • Passionate about what you do
  • Familiarity with more than one design tool
  • Prior experience with designing user-friendly web applications
  • Capable of doing research on target audience, to determine behavior and usage of our customer base
  • Capable of designing a rich, user-friendly experience while keeping in mind who our customers are (see a pattern here?)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Have a strong desire to make applications that leave users speechless (more so they don’t have to call support and ask how to use the app every 5 minutes)
  • Have a keen sense in how to design intuitive web applications
  • Have a strong desire to contribute to a team effort, and make a real impact on the look and feel of a product
  • A consummate learner – someone who is always seeking to level up their skill set

Bonus if you are:

  • Familiar with Atlassian based products (Jira, Confluence, Trello)
  • A member of a meetup group or other organization geared towards UI/UX
  • Are a member of the fellowship of UI/UX Ninja’s
  • Already familiar with low-code platforms or other RAD tools (like OutSystems, etc.)
