OutSystems Lead Developer
We are seeking an experienced OutSystems Lead Developer to design, build, and lead the delivery of scalable, enterprise-grade applications using the OutSystems platform. This role combines hands-on development with technical leadership, working closely with architects, product owners, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of applications using OutSystems (Reactive and/or Traditional Web)
- Provide technical leadership across the full application lifecycle (design, development, testing, deployment, support)
- Collaborate with solution architects to define application architecture and integration patterns
- Guide and mentor developers, ensuring adherence to best practices and coding standards
- Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Drive performance optimization, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis
- Implement integrations with external systems via APIs, web services, and messaging platforms
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning, estimations, and retrospectives
- Ensure quality through code reviews, automated testing, and CI/CD practices
- Support modernization initiatives, including migration to OutSystems Developer Cloud (ODC)
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of software development experience
- 3+ years of hands-on OutSystems development experience
- Strong experience with OutSystems Reactive Web applications
- Solid understanding of OutSystems architecture, service modules, and data modeling
- Experience integrating with REST/SOAP APIs and external systems
- Proficiency in web technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS)
- Experience with relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, or similar)
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
- Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with OutSystems Developer Cloud (ODC) and modernization/migration from O11
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform
- Familiarity with enterprise integration patterns and iPaaS solutions
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Knowledge of microservices architecture and event-driven systems
- Exposure to SAP integrations (e.g., via APIs or middleware)
- Experience leading distributed or multi-shore teams
Certifications
- OutSystems Associate or Professional Developer certification preferred
- Architecture certifications are a plus
