Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced OutSystems Software Developer to join our Global IT Development Team at Ceres’ Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Bangalore.

This role will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining custom-built applications that support Ceres’ operations across the United States, Caribbean, Pacific, and New Zealand. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to build offline-capable, data-driven applications optimized for iOS devices, laptops, and other platforms used in field and operational environments.

Success in this role will require delivering robust, scalable, and user-friendly solutions that enhance operational efficiency and empower field teams in high-impact, time-critical situations.

Key Responsibilities

Application Design & Development

• Design, develop, and configure high-quality applications using OutSystems Service Studio, aligned with business and operational requirements.
• Build reusable Application Objects (AOs) to improve development efficiency and long-term maintainability.
• Ensure clean, high-quality, and well-structured code in line with industry best practices and internal standards.

UI/UX & Integration

•  Design intuitive and responsive user interfaces using OutSystems web and mobile frameworks.
•  Develop and maintain integrations with external systems and APIs, including REST and SOAP services.

Testing, Deployment & Support

•  Perform comprehensive testing, debugging, and performance tuning to ensure optimal application performance.
•  Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve application issues independently or in collaboration with OutSystems support.
•  Support deployment and ongoing maintenance of production applications, ensuring stability and reliability.

Collaboration & Technical Excellence

•  Collaborate with IT leadership and cross-functional teams to evaluate, recommend, and implement innovative tools and technologies.
•  Contribute to defining technical standards, development processes, and best practices across the OutSystems development ecosystem.

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on software development experience using OutSystems.
•  At least 3 years of experience designing and delivering custom enterprise applications across diverse business processes.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.

Certifications & Technical Skills

•  Certified OutSystems Developer – Web and/or Mobile (mandatory).
•  Experience working within Azure and Microsoft 365 environments.
•  Proven experience building offline-capable applications for mobile and field-based operations.
•  Familiarity with geo-centric or GIS-enabled applications is a strong advantage.

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong understanding of software development principles and application lifecycle management.
•  Solid knowledge of UI/UX best practices and responsive design for web and mobile platforms.
•  Familiarity with software testing methodologies and quality assurance processes.
•  Proficiency in JavaScript for customization and advanced logic development.
•  Experience working with relational and non-relational databases.
•  Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging capabilities.
•  Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a global team.
•  Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing solutions in highly distributed, multi-region enterprise environments.
•  Knowledge of Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
•  Familiarity with DevOps pipelines, CI/CD tools, and modern deployment strategies.
•  Exposure to GIS or mapping-based solutions.
