Job Description
We are looking for an experienced OutSystems ODC Architect to join our team supporting enterprise application development and modernization for a financial client in Washington, DC.
The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of overall application development experience, including 4–5+ years of hands-on OutSystems experience, with strong experience in OutSystems Developer Cloud (ODC).
The candidate will be responsible for leading the architecture, design, development, integration, deployment, and performance optimization of enterprise applications using the ODC platform. The role requires strong technical leadership, cloud-native application development experience, and the ability to work closely with business stakeholders, architects, developers, QA teams, and client leadership.
Key Responsibilities
ODC Architecture & Solution Design
- Lead the architecture and design of enterprise applications using OutSystems Developer Cloud (ODC).
- Define scalable, secure, maintainable, and high-performing ODC application architectures.
- Translate business and functional requirements into technical solutions using ODC.
- Establish application architecture, data models, integration patterns, APIs, and reusable components.
- Ensure solutions follow ODC and cloud-native architecture best practices.
ODC Application Development
- Lead the development of enterprise applications using OutSystems ODC.
- Develop reusable components, modules, services, UI components, and business logic.
- Implement responsive web applications and modern user experiences.
- Develop and consume REST APIs and web services and integrate ODC applications with enterprise systems.
- Work with relational databases and external data sources as required.
- Participate in modernizing and migrating existing OutSystems applications to ODC where applicable.
Cloud, Integration & DevOps
- Work with cloud-native application architecture and enterprise integration patterns.
- Design and implement secure API-based integrations between ODC and external/enterprise applications.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams on application deployment, release management, CI/CD, monitoring, and operational support.
- Support application lifecycle management across development, testing, and production environments.
- Work with authentication, authorization, API security, and enterprise security requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 8+ years of overall software/application development experience.
- 4–5+ years of hands-on OutSystems development experience.
- Hands-on experience with OutSystems Developer Cloud (ODC).
- Strong understanding of ODC architecture, application development, deployment, integration, and cloud-native concepts.
- Experience designing enterprise-grade applications using OutSystems.
- Strong experience with REST APIs, web services, and enterprise integrations.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
- Strong understanding of application architecture, design patterns, security, scalability, and performance optimization.
- Experience with HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive web application development.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred / Plus Skills
- Experience migrating or modernizing traditional OutSystems applications to ODC.
- Experience with cloud-native architectures and distributed applications.
- Experience with API gateways, enterprise integration platforms, or microservices.
- Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience with enterprise identity and access management, OAuth/OIDC, and API security.
- Experience working with large enterprise or financial-sector applications.
- Experience supporting applications in highly regulated environments.
