OutSystems Recognized By Prestigious SIIA Codie and Jolt Awards
San Ramon, CA - 15 February 2008
OutSystems, the agile enterprise software company, today announced that OutSystems Platform 4.1 is a Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA) Codie Award finalist for Best On-Demand Platform and Best Software Development Solution, as well as OutSystems Supplier Self Service for Best Supply Chain Solution. In addition, OutSystems 4.1 is a finalist in the Enterprise Tools category of CMP Technology's elite 18th annual Dr. Dobb's Jolt Product Excellence Awards.
Established in 1986, the Codie Awards celebrate the outstanding achievement and vision in the software, digital information, and education technology industries. Through a unique combination of journalist and peer review, the Codie Awards recognize 68 categories of outstanding products and services. This year’s 340 finalists represent an impressive array of technology and business excellence and success.
Over 250 judges from the trade press, consulting, educators, IT specialists, and other knowledgeable, but neutral, experts have reviewed all of the products entered. The finalists were chosen from more than 1,000 nominations submitted by more than 600 companies. The next step in the process for OutSystems brings OutSystems Platform 4.1 and OutSystems Supplier Self Service before the SIIA members for a vote to determine the winners in each category.
“Competition is tough this year and that makes selection as a Codie Finalist a real achievement,” said Ken Wash, SIIA president. “All the companies on this year’s list should feel justifiably proud of their recognition.”
According to CMP Technology, a Jolt Award is the "Oscar of our industry" because they recognize the most innovative, trend-making, ahead-of-the-curve products available today. For the past 17 years, CMP's Jolt Product Excellence Awards have been presented annually to products that have jolted the industry with their significance and made the task of creating software faster, easier, and more efficient. The Jolt Award winners are chosen by a team of esteemed editors, columnists, and industry gurus. Jolt Cola, the fabled soft drink quaffed by software developers for sustenance during project development marathons, sponsors the awards presentation.
“We are truly honored to be recognized by our peers and the industry in both the SIIA Codie Awards and 2008 Jolt Awards,” said Paulo Rosado, CEO, OutSystems. “These finalist nominations reflect OutSystems’ commitment to helping enterprise IT personnel deliver better business applications in a shorter amount of time, while keeping an open line of communication and accepting business feedback as part of a natural, organic process of development.”
The 23rd Annual Codie Awards will be presented at a gala event on May 20, 2008 at the historic Palace Hotel in San Francisco. For a complete list of the 2008 Codie Award finalists, please go to: http://www.siia.net/codies/2008/finalists.asp
