OutSystems platform assists Fima-Lever-Iglo Retail Management activities

Lisbon, Portugal - 16 December 2005

OutSystems has announced that OutSystems Platform has been used by Fima-Lever-Iglo (F-L-I), a joint venture between Unilever and the Jerónimo Martins Group, to create a solution to support retail management activities.

OutSystems Platform was used to create an application that automatically estimates a product's performance, based on the information gathered from the field and from internal systems. The application manages all data inputs, compiling them in a structured way that can then be used to generate further business information.

The application is integrated with SAP R/3 to access all master information about products, prices, stores, sales and commercial terms. It also integrates with Siebel to access the shelf price reports based on information input by the field personnel. Reports may also be received via an FTP server. The resulting information is then sent to SAP BW where additional operations are performed to estimate the product performance and profitability.

The resulting information offers a major competitive advantage for Key Account Managers who can assist their customers in optimizing sales, by suggesting shelf price adjustments, sellout promotions or any other retail management activity that may help maximize the return with F-L-I products.

The ability to seamlessly integrate with existing systems and the flexibility to quickly adapt the solution to the constant changes of the business environment have been indicated as the main reasons for F-L-I’s decision to adopt OutSystems Platform.

This solution was implemented by F-L-I's Information Management & Technology department with the support of Roff, a certified OutSystems partner.
