Agility Award Winning Projects

DGAL’s Municipality Portal (Portal Autárquico) Project

The Municipality Portal project delivered a Municipal Portal for citizens and public entities to manage their relationship with the Local Administration. The primary project goals were to improve communication and information access to all interested parties – both public and private. The Municipality Portal also provides a set of online and management software services for several other municipal and central entities. Delivered in 8 Weeks with 5 sprints.

“The new Municipality Portal provides users centralized access to all services provided by the municipal entities. The range of online services allows both citizens and public entities to safely and effectively carry out their business, leading to increased productivity.
Luis Fernandes, IT Manager at DGAL.

(Sistema Integrado de Informação da Administração Local) & (Sistema Integrado de Gestão de Entidades) These two companion projects provide a centralized system that stores and validates municipality information; making it available to central administration and governmental entities. The SIGE application provides a centralized system to manage DGAL’s various municipal entities’ information and makes that information available to several other applications. Delivered in 20 Weeks with 4 sprints.

SIIAL is a central system that enables a shared management of municipality information benefiting municipal entities, central administration and government. The application ensures the high performance and availability needed to manage and provide information to all of DGAL’s business areas.
Paulo Mauritti, Deputy Secretary at DGAL.

Hospital Fernando Fonseca

Hospital Fernando Fonseca’s Surgery Cost Management System

The project was designed to capture and analyze surgery costs using information from third party systems. The application provides a front office to register the material consumed for a given surgery and a back office capability to analyze cost elements associated with different patients and procedures. The system also provides a workflow to request and approve materials. Delivered in 10 Weeks with 2 sprints.

The project was quite successful, and allowed HFF to deliver a high impact business intelligence capability to better understand and control the use of surgical materials. Using the Agile Platform and Agile methodology we were able to ensure full alignment between IT & our business users.
Dr. Luis Gouveia, Operations Manager at Hospital Fernando Fonseca.
