From local government efficiency to supporting airline operations and in-flight processes with mobile solutions, we continue to see that the speed and performance of the Agile Platform coupled with agile development provides a winning combination for companies of all sizes and shapes.

Mike Jones, VP of Global Marketing at OutSystems

This project proved that the Agile Platform could deliver on its promise of evergreen applications as we were able to see the improvements happening before our eyes during development. From the jump in performance, to the improved page navigation and new functionality, we now have a system that is truly working for us!

João da Câmara Manoel, CIO at APS

With MHW we got an efficient, state of the art system for registering, monitoring and management of infrastructural projects within the municipality. There is now a direct link between projects and regular work tasks allowing us to work more efficiently and save tax-payers money. The possibility for key-users to give feedback while the application was developed, as per the Agile methodology, resulted in a 100% application acceptance and gave us a head start at roll-out!

Bas Contant, Team leader ICT projects and consultancy at the Municipality of The Hague

The project totally met our expectations: the Web site is aesthetically very modern and creative. For both new and returning customers we now have an easy to use Web property that provides all the information and functionality people look for when deciding to visit the hotel. We are confident that this solution will increase our business substantially!

Carla Felício, Director at Hotel das Amoras

The new system provides a 95 percent reduction in the amount of human intervention required in the creation of 500 average daily forms. The immediate effect has been the virtual elimination of all data processing errors related to traffic information. The dynamic approach to the development process, as well as the possibility of immediately changing and correcting detected problems are some of the verified benefits that allowed us to obtain the exact application the business needed.

Mário Soares Fatela, Passenger and Airport Systems Manager at TAP

The new Manifest Management application was an extraordinary accomplishment and has been a great success. The combination of OutSystems technology and a SCRUM based development approach proved once again a catalyst for great results. The SATA IT team along with key business team members delivered the new solution in roughly one month’s time. The inclusion of the mobile interface was key to the success and adoption of the application by our crew members and we now have sales data being made available much faster and more accurately than ever.

Beatriz Vieira, Treasury Manager at SATA

OutSystems, provider of the industry-leading Agile Platform application development tool, announced today five new winning projects for the OutSystems Agility Award, recognizing accomplishments for projects that were delivered following an agile process and exhibited real business benefit.

Agility Award Winning Projects

Associação Portuguesa de Seguradores - APS System Improvements - Implemented by Noesis in 8 weeks & 2 sprints.

In order to keep up with changing business requirements the Associação Portuguesa de Seguradores needed to evolve their Portal application that services internal users and associates as well as the general public via the Internet. The Portal was originally constructed using an early version of the Agile Platform and was suffering from multiple issues that included a progressive drift from business requirements, a lack of performance and limited usability. This project realigned the Portal to new business needs and improved performance and usability, effectively putting a new life into the application.

Gemeente Den Haag

Gemeente Den Haag - Mijn Haagse Werkzaamheden (MHW) - Implemented by COOLProfs in 18 weeks & 3 sprints.

MHW is an application to manage infrastructural and road-work projects within the Dutch municipality of Gemeente Den Haag. The MHW application spans from planning and budgeting to the acceptance and invoicing phase of a project. It includes a project planning section that connects into the ongoing tasks tracking part of the application, where information can be shared between employees of the municipality as well as external parties such as construction and engineering companies. The application is further connected to the GIS service in The Hague (ESRI) and to the Oracle Maps database (which contains all objects within the city) and automates all infrastructural projects’ notifications as required by law.

Hotel das Amoras

Hotel das Amoras - Online Booking Engine - Implemented by OutSystems in 8 weeks & 2 sprints.

The goal of the project was to develop an online hotel booking engine for the Hotel das Amoras as well as promote its facilities and activities on a new .com site. In addition, the project delivered a marketing campaign management system that allows the hotel to keep in touch with customers via email, complimenting the functionality of the web site.

Cyprus Telecommunications

Megasis / TAP - e-FT: Formulários Electrónicos de Tráfego - Implemented by Do It Lean in 9 weeks & 4 sprints.

The “e-FT: Formulários Electrónicos de Tráfego” system automates the creation of Traffic Forms. The new system greatly reduces the amount of human intervention in the process, thus minimizing the issues that stem from the incorrect filling in of these forms, which had obvious negative impact on traffic information quality.

SATA Airlines - Manifest Management  - Implemented by SATA in 6 weeks & 4 sprints.

The Manifest Management application allows the control of all sales made on board SATA's International flights, using a simple user interface with full mobile support. It automates crew member reports based on their position in the plane and complements the workflow with notifications to the command chain in order to make sure that no manifest is lost or suffers process delays. Furthermore, the solution integrates with both the operational system (information about the flight and assigned crew members) and SAP for receipt issuance and payroll calculations.
