Agility Award

The continued evolution of agile methods powered by OutSystems’ highly productive application development environment, the Agile Platform, consistently lets our customers and partners deliver high value, custom applications faster than ever. These projects span a wide range of organizational structures and it is very rewarding to recognize their success.

Mike Jones, VP of Global Marketing at OutSystems

MpDB represents Mútua dos Pescadores’ commitment to the other members of the Marleanet project, to training for maritime professions and to the environment. The ultimate goal of the project is to create the next generation of maritime training, going, even beyond, international standards. We had a very tight schedule for the initial phase so we decided on the Agile Platform (and methodology): The great implementation speed, supported by constant user feedback, allowed us to go beyond our wildest expectations and meet all the requirements in time, with what ended up being a highly customizable application. The end product is certainly what we can call a ‘game changer’ for the industry!

Maria do Céu Baptista, Marleanet Project Coordinator

With this application, Católica do Porto University now has access to sophisticated capabilities that merge quality information from multiple systems and provides access to a diverse set of users - from upper management to lecturers and students. The application helps us reinforce quality as a matter of shared interest and ownership. The agile approach to development allowed continuous evaluation of the application as it evolved which was essential for fine-tuning the final result!

Joana Costa, QA Unit Coordinator at Católica do Porto University

OutSystems, provider of the industry-leading Agile Platform application development tool, announced today two new winning projects for the OutSystems Agility Award, recognizing accomplishments for projects that were delivered following an agile process and exhibited real business benefit.

This quarter’s winning organizations represented companies and public sector groups working to drive innovation and business agility through improved IT processes.

The winning companies were Mútua dos Pescadores and Universidade Católica Portuguesa (Porto).

The Agility Award program was launched at the end of May 2009. The awards are submission-based and recognize teams and organizations who have fully embraced Agile methodologies and iterative, user-oriented development to deliver application projects on time, on budget and with 100 percent user adoption.

In the spirit of Agile, the Agility Awards are given on an on-going, monthly basis with winners formally announced each quarter. For a list of all award winners visit https://www.outsystems.com/company/agility-awards/.
