OutSystems Enhances the Delivery of Inherently Secure Web and Mobile Applications with HP Fortify

OutSystems uses HP Fortify Static Code Analyzer to Proactively Assess Generated Code

"According to the HP 2012 Cyber Risk Report, 40 percent of all recorded vulnerabilities primarily or exclusively impact web applications, and there has been a 787 percent increase in mobile application vulnerability disclosures alone.

OutSystems together with HP Fortify will enable customers to accelerate the detection and mitigation of vulnerabilities in order to generate more secure applications."

OutSystems, provider of the OutSystems Platform announced today that it is leveraging HP Fortify solutions to systematically validate the security of both web and mobile web applications generated with OutSystems Platform. Using HP Fortify Static Code Analyzer (SCA), the OutSystems R&D team is able to perform advanced vulnerability scanning on OutSystems generated code during regression testing, defining key acceptance criteria regarding web security for all generated code to eliminate critical, high and medium level vulnerabilities. HP Fortify was selected based on its broad adoption among OutSystems’ customers and its support for vulnerability scanning for both the .Net and Java stacks.

Applications generated with OutSystems Platform inherently address critical non-functional requirements, aspects of enterprise applications that are often overlooked when applications are coded by hand or built outside of the IT department's control. These non-functional requirements include security, maintainability, portability, reliability, scalability, flexibility, auditability, documentation, performance and usability.
