Installing the 3 applications in your environment is enough to get the basic flow working immediately - the data and sample users will be automatically bootstrapped when the Core application is published.
Nevertheless, there are additional features that can be used if configured correctly, which is not mandatory to have the basic flow.
2.1. Environment and component's settings
If the email is configured on your environment, you will notice that two different emails are sent. One when a new claim is submitted, and another when the claim is approved by the Backoffice user. Also, if the PDF component is configured, the claim submission email brings a PDF attached to the claim information.
2.2. Site Properties
Home Insurance Backoffice contains a set of site properties, which are associated with more complex use cases, and as such not explored in this context.
