App Manager basics

The main screen can be roughly divided into 3 parts.


Left part

On the very left there is the folder where you can browse through your folders or add new folder with the big button above.

Right part

The right side of app manager represents the contents of the current folder. Here you can interact with apps via the context menu, navigate in a folder or go back to the parent one (by clicking "back to parent folder" or via the breadcrumbs).

Double-click here behaves differently depending on the type of the file you click on:

  • Double-click on a folder will open it
  • Double-click on an app will open in Service Studio

Topbar

The topbar is populated with the following controls:

  • search bar where you can search for the desired apps or folders
  • preview button that will give you basic information about the application
  • buttons to switch between display modes


Display modes

App Manager offers 3 display modes:

  • Table
  • Cards


Here you can open the app context menu by clicking on the 3 dots (opposite to the app name) or with regular right click on the app to open app in Service Studio.

  • Split Panel

In this mode you are able to open two different folders and work with them simultaneously. You can also move apps from one folder to another.

Adding folders

Basically, there is 1 ways to create new folders.

Creating folders

You can create:

How to create a folder:

1) Click the "Add New" button
2) From the popup choose the option you need
3) Name the folder in the prompt window.


Rename folders

To rename a folder open the right click menu of the folder tree and choose the "Rename" option. In the prompt window type in a new name for the folder. You can rename only one folder at a time.


Basic Information

In the basic info section you can get information about name, number of modules, type, etc.

Select a file you want to get information about and click the "Basic info" button on the top bar.


How to Move apps and folders

It is possible move apps and folders in App Manager. If you want to move apps/folders from one directory to another take the following steps:

You can move apps/folders via drag-n-drop.


Searching for apps

To find desired apps(s) just start typing the text in the search field on the top bar. You can focus the search bar by pressing the Ctrl + F shortcut.

You can open the app.


One-way synch job of Application Portfolio

One-way sync cache timer job scheduled to run once a day. It creates and/or updates application's name and image only. It deletes any deleted applications from navigation list below. The application folder categorization is preserved. 


Secured

Secured exposed rest services via domain encrypted API token validation.

Authorization

Authorization filtering of applications based on logged in user's Lifetime teams security access.
