espace behavior relating to the zone

espace behavior relating to the zone

We have an espace with zone set to 'APPLICATION (call this espace 'eapp' This espace is referenced by an espace whose zone is 'GLOBAL' (call this espace 'eglobal'.  When the 'eglobal' espace calls an action in the 'eapp' espace we see lots of traffic going across the firewall between the IIS server and the application server.  This traffic is related to the action in the 'eapp' espace??

NOTE: the action in the 'eapp' espace being called executes a directory list and returns an outsystems structure of files and attributes.

How does the zone 'Application' work?? we were expecting all activity to be on the application server... and not see all the traffic across the firewall.
Hi Darrell,

The application's reference are published with the application, i.e. the application is self-contained for this matter. Despite this you should take care of other (soft) references you may have on your application, e.g. filesystem paths, absolute URLs for images or webservices, etc.

I'm also confused with your comment of "(...) traffic (...) between the IIS server and the application server.".
Can you explain this better?

Cheers
