Upgrading to Version 9

Currently I am on Version 8

I am upgrading to Version 9 now,

At the updating database step it gave me a warning: Upgrading will cause your license to be violated because this server's license is limited to 8.0 versions. Upgrade anyways?

My question is: if I proceed the installation, will I eventually need a new license to work?

Why my current license doesn't work for version 9?

Hi David,

If you are using a Community Edition, there is no Community licenses being upgraded to Platform 9.
If you are in this case, just search a bit on the forum, there are a lot of topics explaining the Cloud alternative.

For Enterprise Editions you should request a license to be issued and then just upload the new license in Service Center after it is published on the new version.
