Oracle Database Connections in Platform 9 for .NET: SID vs Service Name

Hi Everyone,

In Platform 9 OutSystems changed the way the Database Connection screen works for Oracle DB Connections.

In this new screen you can only specify a connection using a Service Name: if your Database has no Service Name configured and you can only access using SID, you’ll need to use the Advanced Configuration option:

In the example above we show one of the options to use a SID instead of the Service Name. You can find examples of connection strings for this driver here.

If you wish to use a Service Name defined in a tnsnames.ora file present in the Application Server, you’ll need to define (or create) the Environment Variable ‘TNS_ADMIN’ that points to the folder containing this file. Please remember that the folder and files inside must be readable by the Application Server.
