Next Step 2015 - What to expect?

Next Step 2015 - What to expect?

Hi everyone,

Next Step 2015 (http://www.outsystems.com/nextstep/) is just around the corner - it will be held May 26 & 27. The agenda is a bit vague (http://www.outsystems.com/nextstep/agenda/), at least for me whom as never been into one of these events.

What to expect from the three different tracks RAD Solutions, RAD Success, RAD Tech? Anyone knows?

Also, will there be the opportunity to meet some of you guys in person? Are you, the usual forum posters, going? I would love to, but I'm not yet sure if I can attend... :(
I'm not sure yet whether I'm allowed to go :). But I'd like to be there.
Nope, not me, some colleagues :)
(I am invading Portugal from the 30th till 5th btw, but for a different reason ;) )

 Hi Tiago,

Next week, the agenda will be publicly available in the NextStep website. This way you'll be able to check and plan which sessions to attend.
Arlindo

Apart from the publically available features in Amsterdam...Will there be additional features revealed at nextstep 2015?
For those who have been present at previous NextStep editions, who would you say is the target of this event?

Let me try to make it simple. From the possibilities below who benefits the most from Next Step?
  • Prospects or Clients
  • Developers (newcomers)
  • Developers (experienced)
  • Management (partners)
Feel free to add your own choice. From 0 (low benefit/interest) to 10 (high benefit/interest).

I have never been at a NextStep, but from what I've seen and heard, this is my evaluation:

  • Prospects or Clients - 8
  • Developers (newcomers) - 6
  • Developers (experienced) - 5
  • Management (partners) - 8
I'm not sure about prospects/clients and management - that's just not my thing, so I won't comment on it. However, with regards to developers, it seems you think that it has little value. I cannot state enough that this is absolutely not the case. I've been to NextStep twice, and hope to be able to go this year, and I find it very valuable. There's three tracks of sessions on the 2nd day, of which one is a typical management track, but two are interesting for developers - I found myself wanting to split in two sometimes. We've always taken away very valuable information from the sessions, and since there's a large OutSystems engineers presence, you can always have a chat with them to extract some valuable information :). Not to mention the event is just fun, and a perfect opportunity to chat with other users and developers.
Good to know. Kilian, thank you for sharing.
It seemed to me there was not much value for developers, but I'm not saying it's not worth the time. Just wanted to evaluate it properly.

By the way, if someone else wants to share a bit of his/her experience, don't be shy... ;)
Well, from a develop point of view, I found it quite valuable. Of course, when I went (2012, 2013), there were announcements of new platform version (7 and 8 respectively), so your mileage may vary this year :).
Been there last year. It was not so techie as I expected, but more focused on promoting the platform for potential clients, and it seems this year it follows the same priorities. Still there was a lot of tech content, and as a developer I will be attending this year as well.

PS: Will there be a barcamp this year? ;-)
Keep that feedback coming.

I haven't heard nothing about barcamp this year yet... We're already just 3 weeks away. Maybe next week together with the agenda we will know about barcamp.

 Yes, there will. ;)
Oh Boy! :)

Besides fixing the Aggregate Count, there are more goodies coming?
I always "expect the unexpected" in my life and with OutSystems... I doubt you can still surprise me!
I dare you ;)

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to flag that the Agenda is now available on NextStep website. I see some interesting content coming on those RAD Tracks.
Unforfunately, I'm not in the neighborhood... Does anyone know whether or not any of NextStep will be streamed live or recorded for download?
Gerry,
I don't know about live stream (probably not) but you will get the recordings. The same has been done on previous editions. Check the content here: http://www.outsystems.com/nextstep/past-editions/
@Gerry, NextStep won't have a live stream, but, as Tiago Neves mentioned, the recordings of the sessions will be made available after the event.
I haven't heard nothing about a possible BarCamp.
I know there will be the Global InStep 2015 on 26th May, in the morning, which is also the 1st day of NextStep 2015, scheduled for the afternoon... So I guess no BarCamp this year?
NextStep 2015 is now underway! Paulo Rosado takes the stage with his vision for OutSystems.

Got to say it was one of the best NextStep (probably THE best)

Great sessions, great networking, real nice

Lets hope for the next one to be even better ;)
It was great! It was my first so I can't compare...

For those who were there, give feedback so we get an even better one next year.
I haven't done it yet, but will be doing shortly: http://www.outsystems.com/feedback/
I am unable to join but i want all the highlights on your website asap. Thanks for the update though
Err... Tama, are you lacking English skills or just people skills? What you wrote is incredibly rude.
Kilian appologies for that. I was not being rude.
Yes you were. Saying you "want" something "asap" is rude. I suppose you didn't mean to be rude, but you were rude nonetheless.
Ok Thanks for for guiding me.
You're most welcome :).
Time goes by fast.

It's almost a month since Next Step 2015.
When will the presentations/videos of the sessions be made available?

Cheers
Indeed. OutSystems, please give! :)
Yes,

was curious about it as well.
(especially the AngularJS session)

Hi everyone,

We have presentations already available - follow: http://www.outsystems.com/nextstep/2015/
Just 4 presentations are available for now... On a positive note, the quality of the videos, both image and audio is good.
