Silk UI theme customizer generates css that's not working in IE8 RGBa issue

I used the theme customizer to change the Liverpool theme's colors to our company's colors.

However in IE8 the generated CSS didn't work. Most of the color changes didn't work. The reason is that the generated css uses RGBa to define the colors and it seems IE8 doesn't support that.

To fix it i followed the insturction at link below to add a fall back color for IE8
https://css-tricks.com/rgba-browser-support/

e.g.
a:visited {
    color: rgb(0, 129, 198);
    color: rgba(0, 129, 198, 1);
}

This is a bit of a hassle since there are lots of rgba entries and i have to add a fallback for every one of them. Does anyone have a better fix?

Thank you.
