Changing the apk in the google play management console

When I try to upload a new APK in the google play management console i get the following error "Your APK's version code needs to be higher than 7" .   No amount of recompiling or tagging changes this ...  does anyone know whats happening here?

Hello trevor.

Are you trying to submit a new APK of an existing app in the store?

Yes Cesar  that is exactly what I am doing.

Solution

Hello trevor.

As of today, everytime you request a build in the platform the versionCode number is automatically incremented. That means you must generate the app "x" number of times until it reaches your desired number (just click "Generate App" in Service Studio "x" times, no need to install the app)

According to the Android documentation, "you should make sure that each successive release of your app uses a greater value" of the versionCode.

Feel free to ask more help if I wasn't clear.

Thanks
