SOAP Examples

Hi.

I'm trying to teach myself how to use the data from a SOAP WSDL in Outsystems. I am stuck.

I am using the Weather WSDL here.

Do I need to create Structures? I have created the SOAP UI request but unsure of the logic needed to get the data and display on an Outsystems screen. Can anyone help? I kept getting lots of errors before.

Hello Edward.

When you use the action to consume the web service, it doesn't create any structure?

I remember i did a similar exercise when i was learning the basics of Outsystems and the structure was automatically created when i consumed the web servisse.

Hi Rafael.

Yes the structure was not created. I just added one for Currency Convertor and no structure was created there either.

Ok. So i remember i used a component from Forge like this:
http://www.outsystems.com/forge/component/153/xml-records/

I haven't used version 10 of SS so i'm not sure if you already have a XMLtoRecordList action built in.

Nevertheless, you will have to create a structure which attributes have the same order, name and datatype of the output XML you get when calling the web service.

To see the output of your web service, you can use a program to test web services (e.g., SOAP UI).

Hope this helps.
