Dear all

I try to have a web APP reading a QRcode from the webcam and to place the result in a local variable.

I installed the dependency of Simple QRCode Reader from Miguel but I do not manage to have it working. I think that the other components are or mobile APPs or not reading from the Webcam.

Could Miguel provide a short example on how to proceed? (where to place what code in the web page).

With many thanks

Pierre

Hello Pierre

the component needs the flashplayer to work.
On this page https://www.outsystems.com/forge/Component_Details.aspx?ProjectId=1760, you have a demo that you can download, and you also have a link with "try now", where you can try.
I hope it helps.

Thanks Miguel for the fast answer..

I had indeed seen the demo and this is why I'm interested with the Reader (it works fine..!).

But the demo that you suggest can't be read with a normal subscription, because it was not uploaded to the Forge.

So, difficult to figure out how to include the block in my pages and to link it properly. I tested a simple drag and drop on one webscreen. It initiates well the flash and webcam, but there it remains stuck, capturing one image every 2 seconds and doing nothing with it)

Also: Is there an alternative to have it reading Bar codes instead of QR codes? (using something from SWF like flash/BarCodeReader.swf)

With many thanks

Pierre

Hi Pierre,

This link gives to publish the Demo
https://www.outsystems.com/forge/Component_Overview.aspx?ProjectId=2081

In relation to bar code, this component also reads, but the bar code has to be very clear

Thanks Miguel,

If I load the demo app from the link on the forge it works:

I guet the screen with flash & result ok

But if I download the demo, launch in Outsystems and publish from there, it publishes a web page without the flash screen:

So I still can't manage to have it working...

Any explanation?

So many thanks for your input, your support and your time.

Hi Pierre

Can you send me a image from the servisse studio with the page.

like this image:

Sorry for late answer, here is the screen I get in Studio. This is by directly uploading the Demo from the forge, so pretty much the same than your screen, but when I compile and launch I get the screen without the webcam..

With many thanks again..

Pierre

Hi Pierre,

When you run your example, can you see if the browser gives an error or if there is an error loading any file.

Hi Pierre

Can I access your site where you have the flash component or the site is only local ?

Hi Miguel,

Give it a try at
https://arcadis.outsystemscloud.com/DemoQRCode/Home.aspx

Hopefully it is public..

But this is nothing else but a publication of the demo app..

I do not know why but your site is not loading this file "BarCodeReader.swf". Is giving a 404 error.
The file is in the resources. Tries to write to the disc and then reloads it.

Tried it (QRCodeReader.swf).. delete and re-import, but same effect..

Pierre tries to rename the directory (Flash) in resources to another(fl) to see if the file is loaded.

Maybe we have something here:

I'm not sure I can edit the flash directory name. This is what I get:

If I remove QRcodereader.swf, and import resources from HD, I get it but without the flash directory.

Both versions do give the same result on the browser.
