What happens to booleans as a search parameter in queries

Do booleans work as search parameters? What is the value for them to be disregarded?

How can I do a query that shows all if a variable is true and just some if the variable is false?
A condition with a serch parameter in it is only evaluated when the parameter value is different than the data type default value.
The default value of the boolean data type is False so if you create a boolen parameter the search condition is only evaluated if the parameter is true.
For instance:
Parameter-> "Active" (Is Search Parm=True)
Entity -> "User"
Condition ->"User.Is_Active=Active"
If Active=True then the query returns only active users.
If Active=False then the query returns all users.
You can switch the logic using the <> operator instead of =.
