Hi, I'm new and got some questions about DB management

Hi everyone,

Name's Stephen. I'm new here and would like to learn more about web or mobile app development. I'm currently using the personal IDE and I got some questions. I haven't scratch the surface yet and I'm just starting out with the tutorials which I find great. I'd like to create a demo app that will display a db with images and texts (that could change from time to time) with a simple search function, my question is would it be possible for me to access and modify that db if in case i need to update something there? If not, is there any workaround that I can take? Thanks in advance.

Hi Stephen,

When you use a personal environment, the database is in "the cloud", so you don't have direct access to it. You don't have to worry about changing the database structure, since the platform will take care of that for you when you modify your entities. If you need to change the data, you could build a backoffice app to do that.

Hi Aurelio,

That's great to hear. Thanks for the info. Can't wait to finish the training modules to get started with what I have in mind. I'll just come back here if I need more help.

Hi Stephan,

I am new to Outsystems and I found this course really helpful.

http://www.outsystems.com/learn/courses/26/web-development-in-outsystems-9-deprecated/

I have done the other web and mobile course, bit "spoon feeding" if you ask me. That is why I enjoyed this one.

Hope this help
