Share entity between mobile and web applications

Share entity between mobile and web applications

Hello Osian,

I'd like to know if it's possible to share entities between Mobile App and Web app ?

Hello,

Sharing, like using the same entity? No.

EDIT: I was thinking in the offline scenario only. See next comment.

But you can synchronize a local entity with a Server entity.

P.S. But you can make server entities Public and use in any app (server side)

Cheers

Ok for double confirmation please validate/ edit the following Scenario:

Introduction: I'm going to create a project that will be available both for Mobile App and Web app that shall syncronize and allow users to log in to any portal of them and do almost similar actions.

For the Web App, I will :

  • create the Server side entities and make it public
  • create the Dashboard
  • build the necessary UI

For the Mobile App, i will :

  • reference the Web module (with public entities inside)
  • create the necessary Database sync logic to allow offline interaction with the Application
  • build the necessary UI

Solution

Hello,

Yes. My mistake was think only in the offline scenario. You can use server entities, but in this case only when there is network.

So, your scenario is the best as it will allow the offline use and using the right synchronization you will improve performance fetching only the required data.
