Using a CDN

Anybody have any experience of using a CDN?

Thinking about testing Cloudflare to improve performance, however before i jump in and reconfigure the DNS i want to understand how this will impact on things.

- Does it alter anything related with the caching in minutes paramater

- Does it alter anything related to resources / images / JS / Silk UI

- Does it auto contactenate css / javascript?

- Does it affect SSL - i have a SSL certificate hosted on our OS loadbalancer?

- Does it affect ANYTHING else which i might need to tweak??

Thanks

Tom

Yes

Yes

Depends on the cdn i think

of course

Possible.

I suggest to read up about CDN's first, because basically you place your content somewhere else and cache it there. you have to think about what to cach there and what not.

images/css should be easy, but requires some code changes as well.

I do not recommend silkui or js, because those will probably change more often.

CDN is not to be taken lightly and you really need to have a use-case for it.

Before that I suggest read up on some articles of outsytems (and you can do a LOT yourself at first)
