Migrating from Java stack to ..Net

Migrating from Java stack to ..Net

Hi All,

We want to migrate from Java stack to .Net

What are the procedures or steps to be taken?

what are the impacts to current applications in Java stack

we are working on cloud environment

Thanks

RajHasti

afaik you only need to worry at least about a couple of things:

- do you have specific java extensions, you will need to fix those

- do you have specific code to check on id's in html, those can be broken as well.

but basically, setup a separate environment where you migrate a couple of applications and test them.

make sure they cover a range of functions

Thanks for the reply.

Quick question though -

Also one more question - Migrate to a separate environment means to .NET stack environment and import the OML in to that environment to test?Is that correct.

We observed that moving OML from one environment to other environment throws an error - Intellectual property violation always. In that case how do we migrate to a .Net Stack environment?

You can process your oml/oap/osp file to new server IPP here:

https://www.outsystems.com/ipp

You need the new server activation code.

Hi,

For the benefit of other OutSystems community members, let me highlight that this thread is focused on migrating the applications. As I have been told, Raj's project can rely on bootstrapping data to the new production environment, but many projects cannot get away with that approach.

Migrations from Java to .NET call for an individual discussion with your OutSystems representative, like the discussions we are having with Raj's team, where all the above questions and more are properly addressed.

Best,

Joao
