Server Action As a Good Practice

Server Action As a Good Practice

When in a project i found that create a server action will much helpful. Say it, in scenario input field C is the sum of input field A and input field B. When an event OnChange happens either in the field A or field B, the calculation (in call back action) is on progress and ajaxize the sum to field C. Unfortunately, an impatient user will click the Save button before the Ajax Refresh done. As a result the sum got wrong.

In addition to calculate in the callback action, in the save button the sum must be recalculated. So, in this case, a server function, say sum(a, b), is very helpful that is called from both callback actions  - On Change (Ajax) and Save. At least it easy our lives as a developer in a critical time.

Solution

Sometimes a fullscreen AJAX refresh animation can be a blessing...

So user cannot click any button while refreshing.

hi,

I am not sure what the purpose is of this post?

do you ask something or suggesting something?

hi J,

I shares my experience and hopefully there is a better approach to attack the problem where impatient user press a Save button while the OnChange action is taking place; and Harlin has pointed out that there is a way to disable the button while the action is on progress.
