How to display an image from database in mobile app

I want to display an image from the database in my mobile app. I don't see a widget for that in the toolbox. There's lightbox image, but I don't need a thumbnail and I don't see anyway of defining the source of the image in that widget.

Hi Steve,

Here you can find more information about the SilkUI lightbox pattern:

Hope it helps you!

Good grief! That's a lot of steps to go through just to display a single image. Plus, I'm not sure how the URL is going to be defined. My business case is I want to display a map of an apartment complex. I have the DB set up so that I have an image record that points to the apartment record. There will always be either one or no map image associated to an apartment. I also will have this data in local tables on the device, so going through the REST API seems like a ridiculous amount of complexity to do what I want.

Solution

Image widget in Mobile:

https://success.outsystems.com/Documentation/10/Reference/Mobile_Interfaces/Designing_Screens/Image

So, there is a widget called Image in Mobile, that you can use. It's almost the same thing as in the web. One of the differences is that if you want to show an image that is stored in database (binary), instead of defining the entoty and Id, you just pass the binary (the content, that you can get from the database).

Thanks, Eduardo. That's just what I need. I overlooked it in the toolbox.

One other thing, is there any documentation on using the Map widget?

Hi Steve,

Please refer to this post to find examples of applications using the maps:
