static identifier

static identifier

Is static entities can have identifier with referential attribute of other entity ? If Yes Than can we set identifier with any type of Enity or we can set for static entity only? And one more thing i found that when i add attribute to static entity and change its data type to a particular entity( try to make it referential) then we can add static entities only and Runtime kind identifier. What is the Runtime Kind identifier?

Hi Lovish,

You can think of static entity as an entity that have two differences:

1. Data can be add/changed/removed only from inside service studio. So, the only entity action available in runtime is the Get action.

2. Each record has can have a name, that you can use in the code. Every time you use the name of a record in the code, the system replaces it by the id of the record when publishing.

Said that, you can have FK to other entities, but you need to say to which record that FK points to, as you can't add the value in runtime. But you only have access to IDs in design time of static entities (names of the records).

And that is the reason why you can have FK in static entities, but only for other static entities.

Hi Lovish,

Do you need any further explanation on this topic?
