Making the chart change dynamically as per search keyword entered

Making the chart change dynamically as per search keyword entered

Hi All,

I have inserted a line chart to a web screen where I presented the data to chart using sql query and structure in which I have stored.

Now I have to make the chart change dynamically as per the keywords given in the search input. Can someone tell me how to do that?

Thanks in advance

Solution

Hi Ragul,

That's fairly simple: just Ajax Refresh the chart after you've refreshed the query.

Hi Kilian,

Thanks for the tip. And I have made a slight mistake in the format entered in the query parameter which I corrected later.

Dear Kilian,

In one of my application I used column charts, also I used Ajax Refresh after the query. But I am facing issue that new column's getting adding (double) to the chart instead of refresh with new values.

I am using SQL query to fetch the data from SQL db.

After opening web screen chart showing like below image

After refresh with Ajax Refresh complete chart will be doubled.

Hi Skumar,

The only way this can happen is that you ListAppend to the original list without clearing it first, so you end up with double data.

Thanks Kilian, I added listclear server action after start. Now no duplicate column charts.

Hi Skumar,

Great to hear you got it working. Happy coding!

Dear Kilian,

I have one question with you, is it possible to create Pareto Chart on Outsystems?. Or do you have any sample outsystem web application which Pareto chart used.

Hi Skumar,

This actually a seperate question, so next time, please start a new topic.

As far as I can see (I wasn't familiar with Pareto charts), it's just a combined bar + line chart, so yes, that's perfectly possible to do. This is for example such a combined chart, which we created with OutSystems:

This chart combines seven series: six stacked bars and a seperate line.
