Access native virtual reality SDK features without Cordova

Hello OS community,

I’m trying to develop a mobile app that uses the Android and IoS native virtual reality SDK features (i.e. https://github.com/google-ar and https://developer.apple.com/arkit/).

Talking with some colleagues that are working with virtual reality in smartphones, their advice is to avoid using Cordova as the performance required for this kind of feature can be compromised by it.

As so I would like to know If it’s possible to avoid the use of Cordova plugins to access the native virtual reality SDK’s within a OutSystems mobile application?

Best regards.

Hi Marco,

You cannot (avoid Cordova). The whole mobile architecture of OutSystems is built around HTML5 and Cordova plugins for accessing native capabilities.

Thank you Killian.

Being the case that i have to use Cordova, can someone that has already played around with virtual reality plugins confirm that the performance is not an issue?
