Hi there,

I found this statements from https://stackoverflow.com/questions/11508613/how-does-push-notification-technology-work-on-android:

I am wondering, does a mobile device have a concept of port like in computer network, for instance well known port 80, etc? And is it correct that the protocol used to communicate between the mobile device and CGM  is TCP.. or TCP/IP?

Thank you.

regards,

indra

Solution

Hi Indra,

You can have an mobile device receiving connections as they are like any other device connected to a network. For example, there are some apps that allow you to run web servers on android, like this one. However this is not a common use case.

If you want to know more about push technologies I would recomend this OutSystems training lesson: https://www.outsystems.com/learn/lesson/1119/websockets-a-server-push-technology/

Cheers,

Renato

Solution

Thank you,  i abstract;

- it is web socket between pusher server and outsysyem web view.

- our server and pusher server, it could be web service

- pusher server and cgm, could be tcp.

- the port on client could be ephemeral port

Indra
