I admit DST is a headache.

Does ConvertFromUTC() and ConvertToUTC() calculate for DST?

Does .NET stack or JAVA stack make a difference?

I read that DST is ignored in .NET stack.

The DiffHours function behaves differently depending on the application server you are using because Daylight Saving Time (DST) is considered in the J2EE server while in the .NET server DST is ignored.

Solution

Hi Harlin,

They should take into account DST. In .NET these conversions are done using the TimeZoneInfo and in Java they use the Calendar class. You can always open the code of the extension and inspect it.

Cheers
