Customizing a table

Customizing a table

Hi,

I would like to know ,how to create a customized table as user can have the option to choose which attributes can be shown in the table from an entity in the UI screen itself.

Solution

Hello Karthik,

I would say that you probably will want to use List Records to do that.
But you can take a look in older posts about it, like this one (include examples, but pretty old): https://www.outsystems.com/forums/discussion/12505/show-hide-columns-of-table-records/

This may also be of help: https://www.outsystems.com/forums/discussion/17205/table-record-with-dynamic-column-span/

Cheers.

Solution

Hi Karthik,

Welcome to the forums. As you might not expect, this is not a Q&A forum where you simply ask a question and expect an answer. We would really love to see what you already have tried, thought of how you are going to achieve a certain goal. Otherwise you might as well give us the project and we get paid instead of you.

Sorry to be so blunt, but, well at least me, expect some kind of effort from your side.

So, What do YOU think how to approach your problem?

Did you try something already but you got stuck on a certain point?

Did you google for similar issues?

If you have the full list of the fields beforehand, you can use something like this: http://talkerscode.com/webtricks/show-hide-table-column-using-javascript.php

If you're looking for something more dynamic, my suggestion is to look for the Entity_Attr System Entity, get the fields that you want and then do a dynamic SQL query to retrieve the data.

Let me know if this helps. If not, feel free to add more details to your request.

Cheers!

yes I did. I tried in all possible ways that i can, i tried with sql quires in preparation and trying to give conditions for aggregates, etc., but i don't find the way and I'm in a point now where i started. So I posted this. and it is a general practice to enhance my skills in outsytems.
