Populate dropdown with list of all application users

Populate dropdown with list of all application users

I have an Android app and I want to populate a dropdown with a list of all the Users I have set up in http://<mycloudaddress/Users

How do I do this. When I add a dropdown list and click on the "List" property, I go into the expression editor. When I browse through the bottom left window at all my options, I don't see anything regarding Users at all. When i look at the Users API documentation, all the actions that let you retrieve user information seem to only pass back data about ONE user after you send a User ID as a parameter,

Is there no way to just get a list?

Hello Brian,

Are you in Mobile, right?

User is a System Entity. It lives in the Server.
So... What's the problem to fetch data using an aggregate and assign the aggregate List as the source to the Drop Down widget list?

If you are using a web, you need to define the Source Entity in order to see the User Entity. Record Source List will require a list (local, aggregate list, etc)

Cheers.

Solution

Hi Brian,

Assuming you are doing a mobile app...

  • Add a variable UserId of Type "User Identifier" to your Screen
  • Add the Dropdown to your screen
  • Drag the UserId variable into the Dropdown.

Cheers,

José

Well that worked like a charm

A scaffolding... :)
Nice. It will create automatically the aggregate. :)
