bind combo box data to subset of an static entity.

Hi ,

I have an "Static entity" Exam with values

  • Exam1
  • Exam2
  • Exam3
  • Exam4

The Combo box has a property "source entity"  and i can bind it to the entity Exam.  But I do not want to use all the values of the exam static entity.  I only want to show a sub set i.e. Exam1 and Exam2 box to display in the combo box.

I do not want to create another static entity again just for the combo box

Is there a way that I filter the static entity set and bind the combo box to it.

Thank you in advance,

If you can have Exam1 and Exam2 active and Exam3 and Exam4 not active you can add a Is_Active attribute to that static entity.

If you configure that attribute as the  "Is Active Attribute" in that table settings only the active records will appear in the combo box when choosing "Source Entity".

Attention: You cannot change the value from the static entity attributes in runtime!!

Cheers,

I have the same problem. The active/inactive method isn't flexible enough for my needs. I'd like to define a filter on the static entity. Any thoughts?

Drag and drop your static entity to preparation flow, to create an aggregate and apply a filter :

Exam.id = Entities.Exam.Exam1 OR Exam.id = Entities.Exam.Exam2

Set the "source entity" property in the Combo Box as Aggregate.List

Hi good learner,

Just need 1 clarity , are the selection condition going to change later in for your application (for eg :- now you are selecting Exam1 and Exam2 as option but later you would also need to add exam 3).
