Hello,

Adding a new method to an existing Extension can create impact in applications where the extension was already in use?

Thanks,

Luis

Hi Luís,

If you want to have that method available you need to refresh dependencies after it's created in the modules that are using that Extension.

Hello,

Thanks Ricardo. Yes, that's true.

Do you have any idea if we don't refresh all the dependencies if the other applications will have any impact? Since its a new method, the other applications are not referencing it. My question is if that will cause impact on them ?

Do we have to refresh all the dependencies of the extension?

Thanks,

Luis

Solution

Hi Luis,

If I'm not mistaken, it would just mean that modules that are not using refreshed dependencies will be using the old outdated version of the JAR/DLL, and modules that have refreshed dependencies will be using the new up-to-date version of the JAR/DLL (both versions will coexist while modules are referencing the outdated version).
