Hi!

In our mobile app we do have all kinds of answers to do with timeout errors and such, but we were also wondering if it would be possible to change the messages, that gets sent, if timeout for example happens?

So instead of getting that red notification, that timeout error happened, we would send user "could not connect this time, try again later" for example. Is this kind of customizing possible?

Solution

Hi oskari,

Take a look at the online course for mobile development, and see specifically this exercise where different content is shown to user in case of a problem fetching data, for example.

If this is too fancy for you and you only want to alter the message, you can look at the Common/OnException of your app.

You can replace te message given by your own.  (but maybe keep the option for the user to also see the original message, maybe that contains usefull information for troubleshooting.)

hope this helps,

Dorine

That was the exact thing we were looking for, thank you very much!
