Unable to use the value from static table in Save action of the form

Hi All,

I am trying to build an mobile application in outsystems. I have created a screen where I have a dropdown list with 4 static entries. This was created using a static table in database and created 4 records in it. Till here I was successful.

But where I am stuck is, I want to use the dropdown value and based on the value it should go to respective screen and I am unable to do that.

Please help me with the same.

Hi!

One way is:

In the Save action you must inquire the variable that is receiving the option from the combo box, and have as many exits in the action as those options each one linking to the  respective screen.

Being Var1 the variable used by the combo box it would look something like this.

Hope this Helps

Hi Graca,

Thank you for your reply.

I am still unable to achieve it. As I am new to Outsystems, I may be mistaken with your terms. Can you please explain it in some other way?

Hi!

Yes. But before you should see this

 https://www.outsystems.com/learn/lesson/1768/widgets-ii/?LearningPathId=2

Your combo box saves the option in a variable that you indicate in the field "variable"

(let us call it Var1)

and your save button runs an action

(let us call it Save)

Now, in the Save action you have to verify which option is in the Var1 and have a end to the correspondent screen. You may use the If (  ) and have one per option or the switch () and use only one.

Please see the outSystems documentation on the switch at

https://success.outsystems.com/Documentation/11/Reference/OutSystems_Language/Logic/Implementing_Logic/Web_Logic_Tools/Switch

Hope this help you

Hi Graca,

Thank you so much for your instant reply.

As I could find, Combobox is present in web application only. In the Web application, we have only dropdown action.

Please help.

Ankita

Hi!

Just use the field you put in the variable line to make  the comparison in the action you are using.
