Hi All,

I would like to understand how the application defined processes are executed in the Outsystems platform.

Similar to timers as below

https://success.outsystems.com/Support/Enterprise_Customers/Maintenance_and_Operations/OutSystems_Platform_Timers_and_Asynchronous_Processes#How_Timers_are_Executed

Does the process runs in all Front end server or in server configured as deployment Controller?

Can you please help me on this?

Thanks in Advance

It is executed in a server, but i do not know which server it is.

Hi Ajithkumar,

The are executed in the front end servers.

Each front end server can have 10 BPT processes run in parallel.

So you can horizontal scale this by adding more front end servers to your environment.

2FE will have 20 BPT process, 3FE will have 30 etc.

Then for Light BPT (BPT with 1 automatic activity, started by create entity trigger) you have a separate set of 20 BPT light processes that can run in parallel on a front end server.

You can see all this in Service Center:

  • On tab Monitor -> Processes you can see all processes in your environment and how many are active, in error, completed, etc.
  • On tab Monitor -> Environment health if you click on Scheduler you can see the 10 Activity Processor (BPT) threads and the 20 LightEvent Processor (Light BPT) threads
